Power Grid Rules~!
Some nifty people came over last night so we grilled hot dogs and played Board Games including Power Grid (#2 game on BGG) and Bohnaza (#128). I really liked how which resources were available as the game progressed changed (i.e. more nuclear power, less coal power). I was also impressed that in a six-player game, three people reached the goal (14 cities) on the final turn. Bohnaza was neat, but I struggled to comprehend my strategy. As the guys pointed out, being benevolent is beneficial in this game, which is why competitive folks like me rarely would win. It was fun and would make a neat family game, I think. In future adventures, we're hoping to tackle Avalon Hill's games like Betrayal at House on the Hill and Dune. I'd also like to try "Ticket to Ride" (currently #42 - woo DA.)
